Ask DWD about your claim: 1-800-891-6499

This guide has no contact form, and it cannot see your claim, change anything on it, or pass a message to DWD. Every route below is the Department of Workforce Development's own.

A question about your claim

DWD's Benefit Call Center takes claim questions on 1-800-891-6499.

Determinations and decisions on a claim are posted on your Uplink homepage under Correspondence History, which is where a written answer lands. Offices and phone numbers lists DWD's other lines, including the ones for overpayments and for an appeal already with the Review Board.

Talking to someone in person

Contact your local WorkOne Career Center to talk with an expert about the job search and career programs available there. Centers serve people in person, by appointment, and virtually.

The application itself is online only, so a counter cannot start a claim for you. Offices and phone numbers lists every center by city.

Reporting fraud or identity theft

A claim filed in your name is reported on DWD's fraud page, which carries the form that locks the account and opens an investigation. The form number, the address it goes to, the fax line, and DWD's warning about messages asking you to click a link are on denials, appeals, and overpayments.

To report a fraudulent message, send a screenshot of it to the DWD Contact Center at AskUI@dwd.in.gov. DWD publishes that address for reporting those messages, and questions about your own claim go to the Benefit Call Center above.

The answers DWD publishes online

DWD's Unemployment Insurance FAQ answers the questions that come up most on a claim.

Its Uplink FAQ is the one to read when the trouble is with the system itself: a forgotten username or password, an account revoked after failed sign-ins, or an error message you cannot get past.
